Dutch Educators Visit East County College District to Compare Uses of Technology in Education
EL CAJON – A delegation of three dozen educators and administrators from the Netherlands will be visiting the Grossmont-Cuyamaca Community College District on Monday to discuss showcase programs and innovations in distance and online learning, e-learning materials, and the application of new “smart” technologies. The discussions and tours will be held Monday, October 11, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m at the Cuyamaca College Student Center, Rooms I-207 and I-209.
Delegation representative Ellen Elemans says participants look forward to meeting their American counterparts at Cuyamaca College, one of the two colleges in the Grossmont-Cuyamaca Community College District. They will be discussing shared experiences and exchanging ideas and strategies for the most effective use of technology in education.
The visiting delegation will hear presentations, discuss issues over lunch, and tour the campus in the afternoon, including the Business and Technology Building and Science and Technology Center.
Members of the news media are invited to attend any activities, including the campus tour starting at approximately 1:45 p.m.
The staff parking lot near the Student Center is open for this event. You do not need to secure a permit in advance. From Cuyamaca College Drive west, take the first right off main entrance, and turn left into the staff lot (across from Student Lot 1 on the Campus Map). The Student Center is adjacent to the parking lot.
